அர்ப்பணிப்புக்கு மறுபெயர்தான் பி.சி. ஹம்ஸா

நாடு முழுவதும் ஆயிரக்கணக்கான மாணவ, இளைஞர்களை சத்திய மார்க்கத்தின் இராஜபாட்டையில் வழிநடத்தி, அவர்களின் சிந்தையிலும் செயலிலும் அதிரடி மாற்றத்தை ஏற்படுத்தி, இறைவனின் உவப்புக்காகவும் மறுமைவெற்றிக்காகவும் அனைத்தையும் அர்ப்பணிக்கின்ற இலட்சியக் கனலை அவர்களுக்குள் கிளர்ந்தெழச் செய்த முதுபெரும் மாணவர் தலைவர், சத்தியப் போராளி, இலட்சியப் பயணி பி.சி. ஹம்சா 21 ஜூன் 2018 வியாழன் அன்று நள்ளிரவில் கேரளத்தில் இறைவனிடம் மீண்டுவிட்டார். (இன்னா லில்லாஹி வஇன்னா இலைஹி ராஜீஊன் - திண்ணமாக நாம் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே உரியவர்கள். திண்ணமாக அவனிடமே நாம் திரும்பிச் செல்வோராய் இருக்கின்றோம்).

அவருடைய மறைவு பற்றிய செய்தி பரவத் தொடங்கியதும் உத்திரப் பிரதேசத்தின் உன்னாவ் கிராமத்திலிருந்து மேற்கு வங்கத்தின் முர்ஷிதாபாத் வரையிலும் குஜராத்தின் கரையோரங்களிலிருந்து அஸ்ஸாமின் மலையோரங்கள் வரையிலும் ஆந்திரத்து தெலுங்கானா முதல் கர்நாடகம், தமிழகம் வரையிலும் தலைநகரமான தில்லியிலிருந்து அவர் பிறந்து வளர்ந்த கேரளம் வரையிலும் கண் கலங்கியவர்களும், புன்னகை மாறா அவரின் முகத்தை மனக் கண்களில் கொண்டு வந்து நெஞ்சம் நெகிழ்ந்தவர்களும் ஏராளம். ஏராளம். அனைவருடைய மனங்களிலும் நிலையான இடத்தை ஆக்கிரமித்துக்கொள்கின்ற வசியமும், ஈர்ப்பாற்றலும் பெற்றிருந்தார் அவர்.

‘மனிதர்கள் அனைவரிடமும் ஏதேனுமோர் தனிப்பண்பு மிகைத்திருக்கும். அந்தப் பண்பைக் கொண்டு நினைவுகூரத்தக்க அளவுக்கு அவர்களின் வாழ்வில் அந்தப் பண்பு மிளிரும். பி.சி. ஹம்சா சாகிபை நினைவுகூரும்போதெல்லாம் மனத்தில் தோன்றுவது அவருடைய அர்ப்பணிப்பும் கடின உழைப்பும்தாம்’ எனச் சொல்கின்றார் ஜமாஅத்தே இஸ்லாமி ஹிந்தின் அகில இந்தியத் துணைத் தலைவர் சையத் சஆதத்துல்லாஹ் ஹுசைனி. உண்மைதான். ‘அர்ப்பணிப்புக்கு மறுபெயர்தான் பி. சி..!’என்கின்ற அளவுக்கு தம்முடைய இரவையும் பகலையும் உழைப்பையும் ஒய்வையும் ஒட்டுமொத்த வாழ்வையும் ஏற்றுக்கொண்ட இலட்சியத்திற்காக முழுமையாக அர்ப்பணித்துவிட்டிருந்தார் அவர்.

எளிமையானவர். பழகுவதற்கு இனியவர். ‘1990-இல் அவர் முதன்முதலாக பீகாருக்கு வந்தார். முதல்முறையாகச் சந்திக்கின்றோம். ஆனால் ஏதோ காலங்காலமாக தோழமை கொண்டிருக்கின்ற உணர்வோடு உற்சாகமாகப் பழகி, இனிமையாகப் பேசி, சிரித்து இதயத்தில் நிலையாக தங்கிவிட்டார்’ என்கிறார் பீகாரின்  ஷப்பீர் ஆலம்.

 ‘We need Quality not Quantity  தரம்தான் தேவையே தவிர எண்ணிக்கை அல்ல என்று கான்பூர் கூட்டத்தில் அவர் சொன்னதை நினைவுகூர்கின்றார், அஸ்ஸாம் மாநிலத்து அபுல் ஹஸன். ‘தமிழகத்தில் களம் காலியாக இருக்கின்றது - இஸ்லாமிய இயக்கம் முழுமூச்சுடன் களம் இறங்க வேண்டும்’ என 1989-இல் அவர் சொன்னது இன்றும் காதுகளில் ரீங்காரமிடுவதாக நெஞ்சம் நெகிழ்கின்றார் வெல்ஃபேர் பார்ட்டியின் மூத்த தலைவர் எஸ்.என்.சிக்கந்தர். 

‘நான் அவரை முதல்முறை சந்தித்த போது கனிவான அண்ணனைச் சந்திக்கின்ற உணர்வில் திளைத்தேன். பல்லாண்டுகளுக்குப் பிறகு சந்தித்த போது ‘என் பெயர்..’ எனச் சொல்லி முடிப்பதற்குள், ‘உமைர் பாய், எப்படி இருக்கின்றீர்கள்?’ என முந்தையச் சந்திப்பில் விட்ட இடத்திலிருந்து சிரித்த முகத்துடன் தொடங்கிவிட்டார் அவர். வரிசையின் கடைசியில் நிற்பவனையும் நல்ல முறையில் அறிந்திருப்பதுதான் தலைமைக்கு அழகு. ஒரு நல்ல தலைவரை இன்று இயக்கம் இழந்து நிற்கின்றது’ என்கிறார், முன்னாள் எஸ்ஐஓ செயலாளர் உமைர் அனஸ்.

‘உடனுக்குடன் முடிவெடுக்கின்ற அவருடைய ஆற்றல்தான் இன்றும் என் நினைவில் நிற்கின்றது’ என்கிறார் தில்லி எஸ்ஐஓ முன்னாள் தலைவர் அயாஸ் இஸ்லாஹி. ‘அவரைப் போன்ற கடின உழைப்பாளிகள் எவரும் இருக்க மாட்டார்கள். எப்பேர்ப்பட்ட இக்கட்டான சந்தர்ப்பங்களிலும் அவர் நிதானம் இழந்ததில்லை. புன்னகையுடன் எல்லாவற்றையும் எளிதாக சாதித்து முடித்துவிடுவார்’ என்கிறார் முன்னாள் எஸ்.ஐ.ஓ பொதுச் செயலாளர் ஐ. கரீமுல்லாஹ். 

‘ரோஜா மலரின் இதழைப் போன்ற மென்மையான இதயம் கொண்டவர் அவர். அதே சமயம் கொள்கை, கோட்பாடு என்று வருகின்ற போது எஃகினைப் போன்று உறுதிமிக்கவர் அவர்.’ என்கிறார் முதுபெரும் சமுதாயத் தலைவரும் மில்லி கெஜட் இதழாசிரியருமான டாக்டர் ஜஃபருல் இஸ்லாம் கான். ‘இதய நோய், டயாபிட்டீஸ், மிகை இரத்த அழுத்தம் என பற்பல நோய்களுடன் போராடி வந்த அவரை புற்றுநோயும் தொற்றிக் கொண்டது. அந்த நிலையிலும் அவர் தொடர்ந்து மும்முரமாக இயங்கி வந்தார். மாதக் கணக்கில் குடும்பத்தாரை விட்டு தலைமையகத்தில் தங்கிச் செயலாற்றி வந்தார். மலையாளம், உர்தூ, ஆங்கிலம் ஆகிய மும்மொழிகளிலும் அவர் புலமை பெற்றிருந்தார். அவருடைய மறைவு கட்சிக்கும் இயக்கத்துக்கும் மிகப் பெரும் இழப்பாகும்’ என நெஞ்சம் நெகிழ்கின்றார் வெல்ஃபேர் கட்சித் தலைவர் டாக்டர் சையத் காசிம் ரசூல் இல்யாஸ்.

இறக்கின்ற நாள் வரையில் அவர் வெல்ஃபேர் பார்ட்டி ஆஃப் இந்தியாவின் அகில இந்தியப் பொதுச் செயலாளராக பாடுபட்டு வந்தார். 1980 களின் இறுதியில் சத்தியப் பாதையில் இலட்சியப் பயணத்தைத் தொடங்கிய அந்தப் போராளி போகாத ஊர் இல்லை. போராடாத களம் இல்லை. இளமைத் துடிப்பும் கொப்பளிக்கும் பேரார்வமும் இலட்சிய வேட்கையும் நிறைந்த இளவலாக இயக்கத்தில் இணைந்த நாள் முதலே பெரும் பெரும் பொறுப்புகள் அவரைத் தேடி வந்தன. 1986-இல் முதன் முதலாக மாணவர்களின் அகில இந்திய மாநாடு நடத்தப்பட்ட போது அதற்கான அனைத்தையும் செய்கின்ற பொறுப்பு அவருக்குத்தான் தரப்பட்டது. அதற்காக அரசு வேலையை உதறிவிட்டு வந்தார் அவர்.

படம்: இடமிருந்து மூன்றாமவராக கைகளைக் கட்டிக் கொண்டு அமர்ந்திருப்பவர்தான் பிசி ஹம்சா. 

(‘அமைதி, முன்னேற்றம், ஈடேற்றத்துக்கு இஸ்லாம்’ என்கிற மையக்கருத்தில் நடந்த அந்த மாநாடு இயக்க வரலாற்றில் ஒரு மைல்கல்லாக அமைந்தது. புகழ்பெற்ற பாடகராக இருந்து இஸ்லாத்தை ஏற்ற யூசுப் இஸ்லாம் கலந்து கொண்டதும் அந்த மாநாட்டில்தான். இரண்டாம் நாள் இரவில் பெருமழை பெய்ய, கொட்டும் மழையில் மௌலானா அப்துல் அஜீஸ் சாகிப் உருக்கமாக உரை நிகழ்த்த, மாணவர் பட்டாளம் சற்றும் கலையாமல் ‘அடாது மழை பெய்தாலும் விடாது பணியாற்றுவோம்’ என உலகுக்கு உரத்துச் சொன்னதும் அந்த மாநாட்டில்தான்.) அதனைத் தொடர்ந்து எஸ்.ஐ.ஓ அகில இந்தியத் தலைவராகத் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட நாடு முழுவதும் எண்ணற்ற மாணவ, இளைஞர்களின் வாழ்வில் நீங்காத தாக்கத்தை ஏற்படுத்தினார் அவர். தொடர்ந்து கேரளத்து அமீரின் தனி அலுவலர், மாநில ஆலோசனைக் குழு உறுப்பினர், மாநிலச் செயலாளர் என அவர் மீதான பொறுப்புகள் கூடிக்கொண்டே போயின.

ஒரு கட்டத்தில் மீன் டைம் என்கிற பத்து நாள் பத்திரிகை (வார இதழாகவும் அல்லாமல், மாதமிரு முறை இதழாகவும் இல்லாமல் மாதம் மும்முறை இதழாக) தொடங்கப்பட்ட போது, அதற்கான நிதி, நிர்வாகம், இதழாசிரியர் என எல்லாப் பொறுப்புகளும் அவர் மீது சுமத்தப்பட்டன. மணலில் கயிறு திரிக்கின்ற அந்த சவால் நிறைந்த பணியையும் மனமுவந்து ஏற்றார் அவர். ஆனால் வாய்ப்புக்கேடாக அந்த முயற்சி தோல்வியில் முடிய, அதன் வலியையும் வேதனையையும் தனி மனிதராகச் சுமந்தார் பி.சி. ஹம்சா.

அதன் பிறகும் அவர் துவண்டுவிடவில்லை. வெல்ஃபேர் கட்சி தொடங்கப்பட்ட போது அந்த சவால் நிறைந்த பணியிலும் அவர் சற்றும் தயங்காமல் தம்மை முழுமையாக ஈடுபடுத்திக் கொண்டார். அது மட்டுமல்ல, கேரளத்தில் ஏராளமான அறக்கட்டளைகளிலும் அவருடைய பங்களிப்பு இருந்தது.

இவ்வாறு வாழ்வின் இறுதி மூச்சு வரை அமைப்பு, இயக்கம், ஊடகம், கட்சி என வெவ்வேறு தளங்களில் மும்முரமாக இயங்கி வந்த அவர் தம்முடைய 62ஆம் வயதில் இறைவனிடம் மீண்டுவிட்டார்.

அல்லாஹ் அவருடைய பாவங்களை மன்னிப்பானாக. சுவனத்தின் உயர்ந்த தோட்டங்களில் அவருக்கு இடம் அளிப்பானாக. ஆமீன்.

எஸ்.ஐ.ஓ.வைச் சேர்ந்த மாணவ, இளைஞர்களைச் சந்திக்கின்ற போதெல்லாம் என் மனம் மகிழ்ச்சியால் நிறைந்துவிடும். வயது முதிர்ந்த தந்தைக்கு பெற்ற பிள்ளைகளைப் பார்க்கும் போது ஏற்படுகின்ற சந்தோஷத்தைப் போன்ற உணர்வை நான் பெறுகின்றேன். அந்த இனிமையையும் சுகந்தத்தையும் சுவையையும் வார்த்தைகளில் வடிக்க முடியாது. என்னுடைய கிழட்டு நாளங்களில் இளமை இரத்தம் பாய்வதைப் போன்று நான் புதுத் தெம்பைப் பெறுகின்றேன்.

நண்பர்களே! தோழர்களே! அன்பு மகன்களே என்று சொல்லி உங்களை அழைத்தாலும் அது தவறு ஆகாது. இந்த அமர்வில் பலரும் ‘இந்த நாட்டின் எதிர்காலம் என்ன ஆகுமோ?’ எனக் கவலை தெரிவித்தார்கள்.
நான் சொல்வேன். இந்த நாட்டின் எதிர்காலம் என்னுடைய இந்த இளைஞர்கள்தாம்..! (தக்பீர் முழக்கம்)

இந்த நாட்டின் எதிர்காலம் என்னவாக இருக்கும் என்பதை இந்த இளவல்கள்தாம் தீர்மானிப்பார்கள். எதிர்காலம் ஒளிமயமானதாகத்தான் இருக்கும் என்றே இவர்கள் தீர்மானித்து விட்டிருக்கின்றார்கள். நிச்சயமாக ஒளிமயமானதாகத்தான் இருக்கும். இன்ஷா அல்லாஹ். அந்த ஒளிமயமான எதிர்காலத்தை எவராலும் தடுத்து நிறுத்திவிட முடியாது.

ஆயிரக் கணக்கில் இங்கு திரண்டிருக்கின்ற இளைஞர்களைப் பார்க்கின்ற போது - நான் போகின்ற இடங்களிலெல்லாம் ஆயிரக் கணக்கில் மக்கள் கூடத்தான் செய்கின்றார்கள் - நான் தனியாக இல்லை என்றே நான் உணர்கின்றேன். நான் தனியாளாக இல்லை. எனக்குப் பின்னால் ஜமாஅத்தே இஸ்லாமி இருக்கின்றது. எனக்கு பின்னால் இலட்சக்கணக்கான மாணவ, இளைஞர்கள் இருக்கின்றார்கள் என்றே உணர்கின்றேன்.

அன்பிற்கினியவர்களே!  நீங்கள் என்னுடையவர்கள். நான் உங்களைச் சேர்ந்தவன் என்றே நான் உணர்கின்றேன். (தக்பீர் முழக்கம்..)

இனி நீங்கள் என்றும் என்னுடன்தான் இருப்பீர்கள் என்கிற எதிர்பார்ப்பும் எனக்கு உண்டு. நானும் உயிருள்ள வரை உங்களுடனே இருப்பேன்.

நண்பர்களே! ‘முஸ்லிம்களின் உயிர், உடல், உடைமை, மானம் ஆகியவற்றுக்கு இந்த நாட்டில் பாதுகாப்பு இல்லை’ என இங்குச் சொன்னார்கள். ‘இந்த நாட்டின் அரசியல் அமைப்புச் சட்டம் இந்த நாட்டின் ஒவ்வொரு குடிமகனுக்கும் அளித்திருக்கின்ற உடல், உயிர், மானம் ஆகியவற்றின் பாதுகாப்பை நசுப்பதற்கான முயற்சிகள் நடக்கின்றன’ என பலரும் சொன்னார்கள். ‘அரசு இவற்றை வேடிக்கை பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருக்கின்றது’ என்றும் சொல்லப்பட்டது. இது உண்மைதான்.

ஆனால் முஸ்லிம்களின் உடைமைகள், உயிர்கள், மானம் ஆகியவற்றைப் பாதுகாக்கின்ற பொறுப்பு உங்களுடையது. வேறு எவரும் அவற்றை உங்களுக்காகப் பாதுகாக்க மாட்டார்கள். கண்ணியத்துடன், மானத்துடன்தான் நீங்கள் இந்த உலகத்தில் இருக்க வேண்டும்; அவமானப்பட்டு, கேவலப்பட்டு அல்ல!. இழிவான வாழ்க்கை வேண்டவே வேண்டாம்.

குர்ஆன் கூறுகின்றது: ஈமான் இல்லாதவர்கள் கூறுகின்றார்கள் : ‘நாங்கள் மதீனாவுக்குத் திரும்பிச் சென்ற பிறகு நம்மில் பலசாலிகளாய், செல்வாக்கு மிக்கவர்களாய் இருப்பவர்கள் இந்த இழிவானவர்களை வெளியேற்றிவிடுவார்கள்’

குர்ஆன் தொடர்ந்து கூறுகின்றது: ‘கண்ணியமும் மரியாதையும் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கும் அவனுடைய தூதருக்கும் நம்பிக்கையாளர்களுக்கும் உரியதாகும். ஆனால் நம்பிக்கையற்ற இந்தமக்களுக்கு இது புரிவதில்லை’ (அத்தியாயம் 63 அல்முனாஃபிகூன் 8)

கண்ணியமும் இழிவும் எங்களின் கைகளில் என எவர்கள் சொல்கின்றார்களோ அவர்களைப் பார்த்து குர்ஆன் அறிவிக்கின்றது. ‘கண்ணியமும் மரியாதையும் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு உரியது. இறைத்தூதருக்கு உரியது. இறைநம்பிக்கையாளர்களுக்கு உரியது’. அவர்கள் கண்ணியத்துடன் இருக்கின்றார்கள். கண்ணியத்துடன்தான் இருப்பார்கள். எவராலும் இந்த டிக்னிட்டியை - கண்ணியத்தை எதிர்த்து சவால் விட முடியாது.

ஒரு முறை, ஹிஜ்ரத் நடக்கவிருந்த சந்தர்ப்பத்தில் சத்திய மார்க்கத்தின் எதிரிகள் ‘நாங்கள் முஹம்மத் நபிகளாரை மக்காவிலிருந்து வெளியேற்றிவிடுவோம். கொன்றுவிடுவோம்’ என்று தீர்மானித்தார்கள். அப்போது குர்ஆன் அறிவித்தது. அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்லிவிடுங்கள்:

‘ஆனால், அவர்கள் அவ்வாறு செய்தால் உமக்குப் பின் அவர்களும் இங்கு அதிக காலம் தங்கியிருக்க முடியாது’ (அத்தியாயம் 17 பனூ இஸ்ராயீல் 76)

அதாவது ‘நீங்களும் இங்கு அதிக நாள்கள் இருக்க மாட்டீர்கள். முஹம்மத் நபிகளாரும் அவர்களின் தோழர்களும் இன்றியமையாத சக்தியாய் இருக்கின்றார்கள். அவர்களின் பொருட்டு தான் இந்த நகரத்தில் இறைவனின் அருள்வளங்கள் அருளப்பட்டுக் கொண்டிருக்கின்ற. அவர்கள் இருப்பதால்தான் நீங்கள் உயிர் வாழ்ந்து கொண்டிருக்கின்றீர்கள். அவர்கள் இந்த நகரத்தை விட்டு வெளியேறிவிட்டார்களேயானால் உங்களாலும் இந்த நகரத்தில் தங்கியிருந்து வாழ முடியாது. இந்த நாட்டின் எதிர்காலமும் உங்களைத்தான் சார்ந்திருக்கின்றது. நீங்கள் வெளியேறி விட்டீர்கள் எனில் இந்த நாட்டுக்கு எந்த எதிர்காலமும் இல்லை. நீங்கள் இங்கு இருக்கின்றீர்கள். அதனால் இந்த நாட்டுக்கும் ஒளிமயமான எதிர்காலம் இருக்கின்றது. நீங்கள் இல்லாமல் போனீர்களேயானால் இந்த நாட்டுக்கு எந்த எதிர்காலமும் இல்லை.

நாடே இருட்டில் மூழ்கியிருக்கின்றது. திரும்பும் திசையெங்கும் காரிருள்தான் சூழ்ந்திருக்கின்றது. இந்த இருளில் வெளிச்சத்தைப் பரப்புகின்ற கோபுரங்களாய் நீங்கள் இருக்கின்றீர்கள். உங்களிடமிருந்துதான் மக்கள் ஒளியைப் பெறுவார்கள்.

நண்பர்களே! தோழர்களே!

நான் இந்தச் சந்தர்ப்பத்தில் உங்களோடு சில விஷயங்களைப் பகிர்ந்துக்கொள்ள விரும்புகின்றேன். அவை உங்களுக்கு மிகவும் பிடித்துப் போகலாம். அவை உங்களுக்குப் பிடிக்காமலும் போய் விடலாம். ஆனால் நான் எதனை சரியென்றும் சத்தியமென்றும் உணர்கின்றேனோ அவற்றை உங்களுடன் பகிர்ந்து கொள்வது என் மீதான கடமையாகும். உங்களுக்குப் பிடிக்காமல் போனாலும் நான் சொன்னவற்றைக் காதாரக் கேட்டு அவற்றின் படி நடப்பது உங்கள் மீதான பொறுப்பாகும். அவற்றைக் கேட்டு அவற்றின் படி செயல்படுவீர்கள் என்கிற எதிர்பார்ப்பும் எனக்கு உண்டு.

கண்ணியத்தை மீட்டெடுப்போம். எதிர்காலத்தை வடிவமைப்போம்.

பல்லாயிரக்கணக்கான மைல்கள் பயணம் செய்து நாட்டின் மூலை முடுக்குளிலிருந்து இங்கு திரண்டிருக்கும் இஸ்லாமிய இளைஞர்களே!

இந்த மாபெரும் திடலில் திரண்டிருக்கின்ற இந்த இளைஞர் கூட்டத்தை நான் எழுபது, எண்பது ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பாக இந்தத் துணைக்கண்டத்தில் எழுந்த முழக்கத்தின் அறுவடையாகப் பார்க்கின்றேன். இஸ்லாத்தை உயிரோட்டமுள்ள வாழ்க்கை நெறியாக முன் வைத்த அந்த முழக்கம் உலகம் முழுவதும் அதிர்வலைகளை ஏற்படுத்தியது. தூங்கிக் கிடந்த முஸ்லிம் உம்மத்தை எழுப்பியது. சோம்பிக் கிடந்த முஸ்லிம் சமுதாயத்தை சிலிர்த்தெழச் செய்தது. இதன் தொடர் விளைவாக இன்று இஸ்லாம் இன்றைய உலகத்தில் தவிர்க்க முடியாத சித்தாந்த வல்லரசாக -Idealogical super power  - ஆக நிமிர்ந்து நிற்கின்றது.

இன்று உலகம் மிக வேகமாக இஸ்லாம் முன் வைக்கின்ற மாண்புகளையும் நெறிமுறைகளையும் ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு வருகின்றது. அசத்திய சக்திகள் இஸ்லாத்துக்கு எதிரான மிகப் பெரும் அளவில் அவதூறு பரப்புரையை முடுக்கிவிடப்பட்டுள்ளன. உலகத்தின் அசத்திய சக்திகள் அனைத்தும் இதற்கான கடைசி முயற்சியில் ஈடுபட்டுக் கொண்டிருக்கின்றன.

என்றாலும் இஸ்லாம் ஒரு மாற்றாக மேலெழுந்து நிற்கின்றது. நவீன உலகின் சிக்கல்களைத் தீர்க்கின்ற தீர்வாக உயர்ந்து நிற்கின்றது. இஸ்லாம் ஒட்டுமொத்த மனித குலத்தின் எதிர்பார்ப்பின் மையமாக - இன்னும் சொல்லப்போனால் ஒற்றை மையமாக - மேலோங்கிக் கொண்டிருக்கின்றது.

அன்பர்களே!
இந்த மூன்று நாள் மாநாட்டில் நாட்டின் ஏராளமான பிரச்னைகள் விவாதத்துக்கு வரும். நம்முடைய இயக்கத் தலைவர்கள், சமுதாயத் தலைவர்கள், தேச அறிவுஜீவிகள், தலைவர் ஆகிய பலரும் உங்களுக்கு முன்னால் நாட்டைச் சூழ்ந்துள்ள பிரச்னைகள் குறித்துச் சொல்வார்கள். இந்த நாட்டில் வறுமை எந்த அளவுக்கு வேகமாக கூடிக் கொண்டிருக்கின்றது என்பதையும் பொருளாதார ஏற்றத்தாழ்வு நாளுக்கு நாள் விரிவடைந்துகொண்டே போகின்ற அவலத்தையும் நாட்டின் செல்வவளம் அனைத்தும் ஒரு சிலரின் கைகளில் குவிந்து கொண்டிருக்கின்ற போக்கையும் அவர்கள் சுட்டிக்காட்டுவார்கள். இனம், சாதி, மொழி, வட்டாரம் ஆகியவற்றின் பெயரில் அரங்கேறிக் கொண்டிருக்கின்ற கொடுமைகள், நாளுக்கு நாள் அதிகரித்து வரும் மனித உரிமை மீறல்கள், தலித்கள், பெண்கள் போன்றோர் மீதான அக்கிரமங்கள் குறித்தெல்லாம் இங்கு பேசப்படும். இன்று காலையில் கூட நாளிதழ்களில் அந்தக் கொடுமையை நீங்கள் பார்த்திருப்பீர்கள். உத்திரப் பிரதேசத்தில் இளம் பெண் ஒருத்தியை உயிரோடு கொளுத்திக் கொன்ற கொடூரத்தை வாசித்திருப்பீர்கள்.

அன்பர்களே! இந்த அனைத்துப் பிரச்னைகள் குறித்தும் இங்கு விவாதிக்கப்படும். ஆனாலும் தோழர்களே! நம்முடைய பணி பிரச்னைகள் குறித்து ஒப்பாரி வைப்பதல்ல. பிரச்னைகளைப் பற்றிப் பேசிக் கலைவதும் நம்முடைய வேலை கிடையாது.

இந்த மாநாட்டின் மையக் கருத்துதான் இந்த மாநாட்டின் உண்மையான செய்தியாகும். Reclaiming Dignity. Redesigning Future கண்ணியத்தை மீட்டெடுப்போம். எதிர்காலத்தை வடிவமைப்போம். ஆம். நாம் இங்கே நாட்டுப் பிரச்னைகளைத் தீர்ப்போம். நாட்டின் ஒளிமயமான எதிர்காலத்தை வடிவமைப்போம். அதனை வடிவமைப்பதற்கான பணியில் நம்மை நாமே அர்ப்பணித்துக்கொள்வோம் என்கிற உறுதியுடன்தான் நாம் இங்கே கூடியிருக்கின்றோம்.

அன்பர்களே! மாற்றத்தைக் கொண்டு வருவதில் இரண்டு காரணிகள் பெரும் பங்காற்றுவதாக சமூகவியல் வல்லுநர்கள் குறிப்பிடுகின்றார்கள். ஒன்று உந்தித் தள்ளுகின்ற அதிருப்தியுணர்வு Push of discomfort. அதாவது நாட்டின் தற்போதைய அவலங்கள், அக்கிரமங்கள், கொடுமைகள், உரிமை மீறல்கள், ஊழல்கள் போன்றவற்றைப் பற்றிய அதிருப்தியும் கவலையும் உந்தித் தள்ளுகின்ற வகையில் மனத்தை நிறைக்க வேண்டும். இது மட்டும் போதாது. மேலே இழுக்கின்ற நம்பிக்கையுணர்வு Pull of Hope.. அதாவது இன்று உலகத்தில் நடந்துகொண்டிருப்பவை அனைத்தும் நிலையானவை அல்ல. ஒரு சிறப்பான, அழகான, நிறைவான உலகத்தைக் கட்டமைக்க முடியும். அதற்கான சாத்தியங்கள் இருக்கின்றன என்கிற நம்பிக்கை.  இந்த இரண்டும்தாம் மாற்றத்தை ஏற்படுத்துகின்ற வல்லமையும் திறனும் கொண்டவை என சமூகவியல் வல்லுநர்கள் சுட்டிக்காட்டுகின்றார்கள்.

எனவே, தோழர்களே, இந்த மாநாட்டிலிருந்து நீங்கள் திரும்புகின்ற போது இந்த இரண்டையும் உங்களுடன் கொண்டு செல்லுங்கள். தற்போதைய நடப்புகள் பற்றிய கவலையையும் அதிருப்தியையும் கொண்டு செல்லுங்கள். அதே சமயம் ஒளிமயமான, அழகான, சிறப்பான எதிர்காலத்தைக் கட்டமைப்பதற்கான சாத்தியம் பற்றிய நம்பிக்கையையும் ஆசையையும் உறுதியையும் செயல்பட்டாக வேண்டும் என உந்தித் தள்ளுகின்ற நம்பிக்கையுணர்வையும் கொண்டு செல்லுங்கள்.

SIO Leaders meet  HRD Minister 

SIO National President Suhail K.K and General Secretary Shahnawaz Ali Raihan met Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal and conveyed their apprehensions regarding Foreign University Bill.

The student leaders apprised the Central minister about the disastrous consequences and ramifications of the bill. They argued that Foreign University Bill would lead to rabid Commercialization of education and consequently plunge the nation in the pit of social inequality. They were wary of the unwarranted focus on 'market determined' courses.

Kapil Sibal assured the students leaders that all possible steps would be taken and a regulatory mechanism would be made. SIO President demanded amendment of Jamia Millia Islamia Act considering the fact that Jamia Millia Islamia was set up for improving educational standards of Muslims and declare Jamia as a minority institute.

Earlier SIO President appreciated the various steps taken by the Govt. in education sector especially the hike in budgetary allocation of Rs.5000 cr, in literacy programs and the bold step to pass the historic right to education act. 

A standard of campus etiquettes also need to be fixed so that cultural invasion and its impacts are minimized. The promotion of new campus environment may also push the concept of apolitical campus, they opined.

Telangana, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind and a photo!!

It is the photo which grabbed and retained my attention for more than sufficient time. Age old adage 'A picture is worth a thousand words' flashed in my mind from nowhere.

The photo, here, is not an ordinary photo we see in newspapers.

It is different. It is historic. It reflects rays of hope of future. It conveys the imprints of indefatigable work of thousands of student activists. It symbolizes the dawn of new leadership at the horizon of Islamic movement in this part of the world. It epitomizes exuberance, vigor and strength of the youth power.

It is the photo published in The Hindu in connection with the massive public meeting organised by Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Andhra Pradesh in favour of Telangana. It is taken by K. Ramesh Babu.

The byline says,''Telangana Rashtra Samiti President K. Chandrasekhar Rao with (third from right) leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind on the Nizam College grounds in Hyderabad on Sunday".

Now, what is the big difference or the striking feature of this picture, you may ask.
It is SIO. Yes, all of those leaders posing in this photo are from SIO. There is Moulana Hamid Muhammad Khan who is standing next to Moulana Abdul Azeez Sahib. Br Hamid worked as the Finance committee convenor during SIO's first All India Conference held in Bangalore in 1986. I distinctly remember the heading "Khan heads finance" in the SIO news bulletin brought before the conference. The other heading I remember was "Ashfaque reviews progress". Moulana Ashfaque Ahmed is Secretary of JIH now. Br Hamid is a lecturer in a college and has visited Chennai a couple of time.

Next to KCR stands Janab Malik Moatasim Khan. He is the present Ameer-e-Halqa of JIH AP. He was the first person who was elected as President of SIO for two terms. Next to him stands Janab Abdul Jabbar Siddiqui. He is from Raichur and he was the convenor of the Headquarters construction committee of SIO and had also served as its President. Next to him stands Br Muhammad Khalid Mubashiruz Zafar who had served as member of CAC of SIO for many years. I am not so sure whether he had been ZP of SIO AP or not.

It is the SIO connection which makes this picture unique. Alhumdulillah!

Imran is new Chennai Chief!!

It is official now.
I could say it is the most exciting, exhilarating and heartening news of the year. Rather it could be said as the most exciting news of the Meeqath! (Meeqath is the urdu word for the word term. It usually comprises of four years, in this case from April 2007 to March 2011)
Br Imran Latheef Sait has been appointed by the Ameer-e-Jamaat Moulana Jalaluddin Umari as the Nazim-e-Ilaqa of Chennai city. This was done on the basis of the recommendation of State Shura.
Br Imran Latheef Sait would be refered as மாநகரத் தலைவர் and as City President.

I know Br Imran for the past twenty three years. He is full of vigour, passion and zeal. He is the most reliable hand; whatever task you give, he would finish it off in style. It would appear that he accomplishes everything in an effortless way. But he is the most committed hard worker. He is very humble and never projects himself. He is well versed in Quran and is deeply attached with it. Infact he runs two, three Quran classes every week. Scores of men and women have learned to understand Quran from him.

He is very disciplined, punctual in Namaz.
He is very fond of cultivating friendships across the various cross sections of the society. He has friends everywhere. He speaks flawless English and beautiful Urdu.
He has business acumen and management skills.
He is still young and always remain active and robust.
He is attached with the tahreek right from his childhood.

He is a team man. He is pious, God-fearing and full of humility. He is hardworking, dedicated and known for his meticulous plans. He had served as Divisional Organisor of Madras for two terms during his SIO days. He had been the Divisional organisor for Puducherry division some years ago. He had also served as the Member of State Shura too. He has close rapports with ICSA and interfaith movement for communal harmony people. Besides he is the treasurer of Islamic Foundation Trust for the past couple of years. He played a leading role in providing newly constructed 38 houses to the hapless victims of sea erosion of the village Kottaikuppam near Puducherry. He was the moving spirit behind this mega project undertaken by TNRC (Tamil Nadu Relief Committee).

I am very very happy that such a talented and dedicated karkun with varied interests bubbling with enthusiasm and vigour has been selected for the job. I hope that the forthcoming days would be fantastic, action-packed and simply satisfying. We have great Expectations.

The story of a dayee with a smiling face and sparkling eyes!

This post is about Br Abdul Muheeth Siddiqui.
I have known Abdul Muheeth for the past twenty years. He is from Nizamabad and was attached with SIO there.

He used to visit Jamaat Office way back in late 1980s when I was serving as Office Secretary. He was doing some business and used to make frequent trips to Srivilliputhur. On his way to Srivilliputhur, he would always make it a point to stay in Jamaat Office (Chennai) for a day or two.

He was a very soft spoken youth and always remained calm and composed. But I distinctly remember the spark in his eyes. He was very passionate in doing Islamic Dawah and his passion reflected in his sparkling eyes. He would always bring some brothers, friends with him.

As days rolled on, his visits became less frequent and due to various developments the chance of meeting him got dimmer and dimmer. But, time and again, in a flash, his smiling face would emerge from nowhere in my mind and I used to cherish his fond memories. And I used to inquire about him whenever I meet some tahreeki brother from Andhra Pradesh.

Br. Muheeth, as it turned up, was very active in Jamaat activities. His circle of friends was very wide. He had just two motives. One, to reform the Muslim Youth and mould them into good Da'ees. Two, to convey the message of Islam to non-Muslim Youth.

Then one Thursday evening came a shocker. I was browsing the Sehroza Dawat when my eyes captured the headings and I could not believe it.

It was an obituary on Br. Abdul Muheeth!
Inna lillahi va inna ilaihi rajeewoon.

The obituary was written by a SIO friend. He has shed light on some aspects of the deceased brother. They are worth sharing:

Br. Abdul Muheeth had the knack of making friendships easily; He was seen invariably amidst a bunch of friends and well-wishers.

He had a tender heart which would melt in no time. The Prophet of Islam has taught us a beautiful way to win others: Give Gifts, Say Salam. Br. Muqeeth didn't stop himself with mentioning this beautiful gem of an advice in his speeches. He practised it.

Feeding the hungry is his favourite amal-e-salih. During Ramazan his house would become a hostel. More than ten to twelve students would be staying in his house. And his mother would never get tired making elaborate arrangements of Sahr and Iftar for these youth of various backgrounds.
He used to give scholarships to many students.

Abdul Muheeth Siddiqui is no more today. He passed away few months back when he was returning from Hyderabad in a car accident.
Thousands of well wishders and friends thronged to attend his Janaza prayer. Hundreds of non-Muslims came with a heavy heart and gazed the proceedings.

May Allah forgive him and grant him exalted place in Jannat.

A memorable evening in Delhi...!

I want to share with you an insight which I got from Moulana Muhammad Farooq Khan.

Moulana Muhammad Farooq Khan is the member of Majlis-e-Numaindgan (central council of representatives) of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind. He is one of the old vanguards of the Tahreek-e-Islami and resides in Delhi. He has written a lot of books in Urdu and Hindi. He is well versed in both the languages. He has translated Quran in Hindi. But his magnum opus is Kalam-e-Nubuwat, a collection of Ahadith in five, six volumes. He could be easily termed as the living legend in the field of Islamic literature. As I have been reading his books for the past two decades, I feel very close to him. For me, not a day passes without reading Kalam-e-Nubuwat. Besides I have been translating his works in Tamil. Chehal Hadhis has been published as Nabi mozhi Narpadhu.
I have met him on two occasions. Once when he delivered a lecture in an all India SIO meet. Next in his room in the second storey of an non-descript building in Old Delhi. I had made up my mind to meet him when I boarded the train in Chennai. By the grace of Allah, we got ourself free at the last day. My colleagues wanted to roam the historic places in Delhi. I cajoled them and virtually dragged them to the room of Moulana Farooq Khan Sahib. It was a brief meeting but It was a memorable evening. Moulana was sitting amidst books.
What he said could be summed up as the following:

There are three essential needs which mould a personality. Without fulfilling this needs one cannot become a wholesome personality.
The three needs are as follows.
First, You ought to have some thing to do.
One cannot remain idle. It is not human nature to remain idle. Man has to do something. Idle mind is devil's workshop. Men do various things. Men get engaged in various occupations to keep themselves occupied. The list of trades, professions, crafts, jobs and careers never ends. But the best thing to do is to do dawah. The best career option is to get engaged in Dawah.
Second, You ought to have some thing to love.
One cannot live with profession, job or business alone. Day in and day out you do a lot of things. But that is not sufficient to nourish your inner soul. Your heart longs to love and to be loved. Naturally men love. Their love knows no bounds. Men love their wives, their sweet little children, their apparels, their face, their language, their organisation, their country, their matinee idol and the list goes on. But the best of them is the love towards God. Love of God is the supreme thing in life. It is the ultimate. You have to research and find out whom does God love? And strive to become one. Besides you should love your Creator more than anything and everything in this mundane life.
Third, You ought to have some thing to hope.
Man exists because of his hope. He may do a lot of things. He may love his job. He may be passionate about many things. But still he needs some thing to hope. Why does he work? Why does he go to faraway lands? Why does he do so many things? Because of Hope. Because of hope that one day he would get a beautiful palace overlooking the sea shore. Of hope that he would be driving in the latest model of car. Of hope that his offsprings would get decent education. The list of hopes and dreams is simply endless.
But the best thing to hope is hope of falah in the Hereafter.
I still remember the day when Moulana Farooq Khan Sahib conveyed this message in his own style; in his own choice of sweetest, chaste words in Urdu. Br Shabeer Ahmed, present Ameer-e-Halqa and Br Muhammad Yahya of AIITA were with me. I remember the haste with which I jostled down the words in an old diary.

Moulana gave me the diary as I asked him paper to take notes. The diary with notes is with me. I will share with you the other notes when next time, Insha Allah.

This is the list of Muslim Canditates who have passed with flying colours in the written part of Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2007 held by the Union Public Service Commission in October-November, 2007 and the interviews for Personality Test held in March-May, 2008, and who have been recommended for appointment to Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service and Central Services, Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’.
First of all let me congratulate them. Hats off to Sister Mariam Farzhana Sadhiq who stands first among the successful canditates. All other twenty three brothers and a sister deserve congratulations.
Next, the details. The total number of canditates passed this year is 734. The total number of Muslim canditates is 25. ie 3.41%
The percentage of successful Muslim canditates continues to be around 3 to 5 % for the past 20 years. Whenever the UPSC results are announced I analyse and scan the list to find out the Muslim names. I have been doing it for the past fifteen years. It never reached the three digits. It never reached fifty.
I always end up frustrated, disappointed and disheartened. Questions, piercing, penetrating, intimidating questions boggle my mind. They rob my peace of mind. To be honest, I cannot find answers. Now I want to share them with you. Whether it will rob your peace of mind or not, I don't care. I want to relieve them. I would be happy if some of you could answer them.
The questions are as follows: What is the reason behind this stale performence? Why is this pathetic, insipid and faded performence repeated year after year? Who is responsible for this lacuna? What are the shortcomings? What are the deficiencies?
Don't we have enough graduates? Do our youth lack ambition? Who prevents them? Who debars them? Nobody. Then what bothers them? What is the remedy? Where lies the solution? If our youth are not aware of UPSC, whose responsibility is it anyway, to guide, counsel and motivate them? What is the role of SIO and Tahreek in this context? Where do they stand?
Tail piece : Two weeks back I came across a news item in the TOI chennai edition. It was about coaching classes for the canditates appearing for the November 2008 exam. The classes were being conducted by Jains for Jain students. Remember the Jains are the most wealthy, prosperous and enterprising community in India. You could find them anywhere. They are successful in every field. Do we have a lesson there?
