Imran is new Chennai Chief!!

It is official now.
I could say it is the most exciting, exhilarating and heartening news of the year. Rather it could be said as the most exciting news of the Meeqath! (Meeqath is the urdu word for the word term. It usually comprises of four years, in this case from April 2007 to March 2011)
Br Imran Latheef Sait has been appointed by the Ameer-e-Jamaat Moulana Jalaluddin Umari as the Nazim-e-Ilaqa of Chennai city. This was done on the basis of the recommendation of State Shura.
Br Imran Latheef Sait would be refered as மாநகரத் தலைவர் and as City President.

I know Br Imran for the past twenty three years. He is full of vigour, passion and zeal. He is the most reliable hand; whatever task you give, he would finish it off in style. It would appear that he accomplishes everything in an effortless way. But he is the most committed hard worker. He is very humble and never projects himself. He is well versed in Quran and is deeply attached with it. Infact he runs two, three Quran classes every week. Scores of men and women have learned to understand Quran from him.

He is very disciplined, punctual in Namaz.
He is very fond of cultivating friendships across the various cross sections of the society. He has friends everywhere. He speaks flawless English and beautiful Urdu.
He has business acumen and management skills.
He is still young and always remain active and robust.
He is attached with the tahreek right from his childhood.

He is a team man. He is pious, God-fearing and full of humility. He is hardworking, dedicated and known for his meticulous plans. He had served as Divisional Organisor of Madras for two terms during his SIO days. He had been the Divisional organisor for Puducherry division some years ago. He had also served as the Member of State Shura too. He has close rapports with ICSA and interfaith movement for communal harmony people. Besides he is the treasurer of Islamic Foundation Trust for the past couple of years. He played a leading role in providing newly constructed 38 houses to the hapless victims of sea erosion of the village Kottaikuppam near Puducherry. He was the moving spirit behind this mega project undertaken by TNRC (Tamil Nadu Relief Committee).

I am very very happy that such a talented and dedicated karkun with varied interests bubbling with enthusiasm and vigour has been selected for the job. I hope that the forthcoming days would be fantastic, action-packed and simply satisfying. We have great Expectations.
May God bless him. May God help him. May God give him strength and vision to execute the work. Aameen

Dear Br.Luthfullah,
Assalamu alaikkum.
We hope that Br. Imran will justify his responsibility and pray to Allah for His Mercy and Help in all his work.

One more point Br. Luthfullah, please help me to understand this pont. The introduction you have given - some points are very strange to me. Such as:

He is very disciplined, punctual in Namaz.: This is the basic qualification for any Muslim then why you are highlighting this for a person who heads the Islamic movement.

I see too much praising. i don't know, may be I am wrong, rather out dated.

One request:
He speaks flawless English and beautiful Urdu. Dear Br.Luthfullah, the need of the hour to speak flawless Tamil. Please request him to learn Tamil, it is possible. As he learnt the Arabic he can learn good Tamil as well.

Brotherly Yours
Ataullah

The sin of flattering or praising a person

(Flattering or praising is not just to say something kind about a person. Praising is to glorify especially by the attribution of perfections. Flattering is to praise excessively especially from motives of self-interest.)

Hadith - Sahih Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Ahmad, Abu 'Awanah, and Ibn Hibban.

Abu Bakr reported that a man was mentioned in the presence of the Prophet, saaws, and another praised the man. The Prophet, saaws, said, "Woe to you, for you have broken your friend's neck!" The Prophet saaws repeated this several times and then said, "If any of you simply must praise another, let him/her say, 'I think the person is this way or that...' if you genuinely think the person to be that way. The Final Reckoner is Allah, and no one can tell Allah anything about anyone."

Hadith - Bukhari's Book of Manners #337, Bayhaqi, and similar version by Ibn Majah.

Aslam reported that he heard 'Umar say, "Praise is slaughter." One of the narrators added, "That is, if you accept it."

Hadith - Bukhari's Book of Manners #338, Nasa'i, Tirmidhi, Ibn Hibban, and Hakim

Abu Huraira, r.a., reported that the Prophet of Allah, saaws, said, "What a fine man Abu Bakr is. What a fine man 'Umar is. What a fine man Abu 'Ubaydah is. What a fine man Usayd ibn Hudayr is. What a fine man Thabit ibn Hudayr is. What a fine man Mu'adh ibn 'Amr ibn al Jumuh is. What a fine man Mu'adh ibn Jabal is." He said, "What a foul man so and so is. What a foul man is so and so."

Hadith - Sahih Bukhari and Muslim

'A'ishah reported that a man requested an audience with the Prophet, saaws. The Prophet said, "What a foul tribesman that one is." But when the man entered, the Prophet was cordial and pleasant to him. When the man left, another asked permission to meet with him. The Prophet said, "What a good tribesman that one is." But when he entered, the Prophet was not nearly as cordial with him as he had been with the first. When he left, 'A'ishah asked, "You said what you did about the first man, yet you met him cordially. And you said what you did about the second one, and yet you were reserved with him." The Prophet said, "O 'A'ishah, the worst kind of people are those whose vulgarity must be avoided."

Hadith Bukhari's Book of Manners #340, Muslim, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah and Abu 'Awanah.

"The Prophet of Allah, saaws, ordered us to throw dust in the faces of those who flatter."

Hadith - Bukhari's Book of Manners #341 and Ibn Hibban

'Ata ibn Abi Rabah reported that when a man praised another in the presence of Ibn 'Umar, Ibn 'Umar began tossing dust in the direction of his face, saying, "The Prophet of Allah, saaws, said, 'If ever you encounter those who flatter, throw dust in their faces.' "

Hadith - Bukhari's Book of Manners #762 and Bayhaqi

'Adi ibn Artah said, "If ever one of the Companions of the Prophet of Allah, upon him be peace, was praised, he would say, 'O Alolah, do not take me to task for what they say and forgive me for what they do not know about."

@N. Ataullah

Dear Ataullah bhai,
waalaikum assalam.

Jazakallah for your observation and comment.

I have not praised Br Imran. I have given a brief introduction of him.

As for Namaz I felt it worth mentioning seeing the state of affairs in the tahreeki circles in general. we conduct lengthy programmes and just disperse without offering namaz collectively. Recently we had two such occasions, when we had two big city level programme. Both of the programme started late. As a result we continued the programmes even after the azaan for Isha. It was announced that Isha prayer would be held in the nearby masjid collectively. Only twenty percent of audience prefered to offer Namaz. In both the cases it was Br Imran who led the jamaat prayer.

As for the request to learn Tamil, Br Imran conducted the ijtima-e-arkaan of the city in Tamil. He delivered a speech in Tamil. His Tamil is not as good as his English but it is affordable.

@ Dr. Khaleel,

Dear Dr. Khaleel Sahib,
waalaikum assalaam.

Jazakallah for your observation and comment.

Now we have not only North, South and Central Chennai, we have East, West and Suburban Chennai too. In this way the whole city of Chennai has been divided into six units. They have six Ameer-e-Muqamis.
Br Abdul Khader heads the North Chennai, Br Abdus Sattar heads the Central chennai and Br Abdur Rasheed heads the South Chennai. A Muhammad Akber Sahib and S N Sikkander Sahib have been appointed as Ameer-e-Muqami of West and East Chennai respectively. Br Ismail Sahib heads the Suburban Chennai.
Overall the affairs of the city would be governed by the Nazim-e-Ilaqa. Nazim-e-Ilaqa would be appointed by the Ameer-e-Jamaat on the basis of the suggestions put forwarded by the State Shura. The State Shura suggests a name on the basis of the suggestions given by the members of the city. The process started a month ago and Br Imran has been appointed as the Nazim-e-Ilaqa of the Chennai city.
There will be a Local Advisory Council to assist the Nazim-e-Ilaqa. The LAC comprises of six Ameer-e-Muqamis and three elected members (Two brothers and a Sister). Total number of members of LAC is nine.

Jazakallah for your links of a website which I find immensely interesting and useful.

Jazakallah for those ahadiths on flattering.
