A blog on Seerah!

Muqeeth Mujtaba Ali has done it.

He has started a blog on Seerah.
It is very rich in content and he has posted articles on the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by world renowned scholars such as Moulana Syed Sulaiman Nadwi, Moulana Syed Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi, Moulana Dr Muzammil H. Siddiqui and others. Besides he has given links to a number of websites on Islam, Muhammad(PBUH), and Seeratun nabi. He plans to improve it further and include lots and lots of articles.
Well done, Muqeeth.

The following is one of the articles from his blog.

It is the most eloquent introduction to the personality of Prophet Muhammad. The translation is good. The original version could be found in Khutbat-e-Madras, by Allama Syed Sulaiman Nadwi. It is a compilation of Speeches on Seerah delivered by the revered Allama on October-November, 1925 in Madras.

Excerpts from Moulana Syed Sulaiman Nadwi's book "Muhammad, The Ideal Prophet"

"A model which can serve for every class of the people acting under different circumstances and states of human emotions will be found in the life of Muhammad peace be upon him.

If you are rich, there is the example of the tradesman of Mecca and the master of Bahrain's treasure;

if you are poor, you can follow the internees of Sh`eh Abi Talib and the emigree of Medina;

if you are a king, watch the actions of the Ruler of Arabia;

if you are a vassal, take a look at the man enduring hardships imposed by the Quraysh of Mecca;

if you are a conqueror, lay your eyes on the victor of Badr and Hunayn;

if you have suffered a defeat, take a lesson from the one discomfited at Uhad;

if you are a teacher, learn from the holy mentor of the school of Suffah,

if you are a student, look at the learner who sat before Gabriel;

if you are a sermoner, direct your eyes to the discourser delivering lectures in the mosque of Medina;

if you are charged to preach the gospel of truth and mercy to your persecutors, observe the helpless preacher explaining the message of God to the pagans of Mecca;

if you have brought your enemy to his knees, look at the conqueror of Mecca;

if you want to administer your lands and properties, discover how the lands and groves of Bani an-Nadir, Khaybar and Fadak were managed;

if you are an orphan, do not forget the child of Amina and 'Abdullah left to the tender mercy of Halima;

if you are young, see the character of Mecca's shepherd;

if you have a travelling business, cast a glance at the leader of the caravan under way to Busra ;

if you are a judge or arbiter, look at the umpire entering the holy sanctuary before the peep of dawn and installing Hajr Aswad in the K'aba, or the justice of peace in whose eyes the poor and the rich were alike;

if you are a husband, study the behaviour of the husband of Khadija and 'Aisha;

if you are a father, go through the biography of Fatima's father and the grandfather of Hasan and Husain;
in short, whoever and whatever you may be, you would find a shining example in the life of the Prophet to illuminate your behaviour.
If you have the life of the Prophet before you, you can find the examples of all the prophets, Noah and Abraham, John and Jonah and Moses and Jesus. If the life and character of each prophet of God were deemed to be a shop selling the wares of one commodity, that of Muhammad (peace be upon him) would verily be a variety store where goods of every description can be had to suit the tastes and needs of all.''

Telangana, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind and a photo!!

It is the photo which grabbed and retained my attention for more than sufficient time. Age old adage 'A picture is worth a thousand words' flashed in my mind from nowhere.

The photo, here, is not an ordinary photo we see in newspapers.

It is different. It is historic. It reflects rays of hope of future. It conveys the imprints of indefatigable work of thousands of student activists. It symbolizes the dawn of new leadership at the horizon of Islamic movement in this part of the world. It epitomizes exuberance, vigor and strength of the youth power.

It is the photo published in The Hindu in connection with the massive public meeting organised by Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Andhra Pradesh in favour of Telangana. It is taken by K. Ramesh Babu.

The byline says,''Telangana Rashtra Samiti President K. Chandrasekhar Rao with (third from right) leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind on the Nizam College grounds in Hyderabad on Sunday".

Now, what is the big difference or the striking feature of this picture, you may ask.
It is SIO. Yes, all of those leaders posing in this photo are from SIO. There is Moulana Hamid Muhammad Khan who is standing next to Moulana Abdul Azeez Sahib. Br Hamid worked as the Finance committee convenor during SIO's first All India Conference held in Bangalore in 1986. I distinctly remember the heading "Khan heads finance" in the SIO news bulletin brought before the conference. The other heading I remember was "Ashfaque reviews progress". Moulana Ashfaque Ahmed is Secretary of JIH now. Br Hamid is a lecturer in a college and has visited Chennai a couple of time.

Next to KCR stands Janab Malik Moatasim Khan. He is the present Ameer-e-Halqa of JIH AP. He was the first person who was elected as President of SIO for two terms. Next to him stands Janab Abdul Jabbar Siddiqui. He is from Raichur and he was the convenor of the Headquarters construction committee of SIO and had also served as its President. Next to him stands Br Muhammad Khalid Mubashiruz Zafar who had served as member of CAC of SIO for many years. I am not so sure whether he had been ZP of SIO AP or not.

It is the SIO connection which makes this picture unique. Alhumdulillah!

Unity of Ummah

The Zonal Conference of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Tamil Nadu & Puducherry urges and exhorts that the Muslim community of Tamil Nadu to tackle the challenges and crises facing them unitedly.

The Jamaat-e-Islami Hind appeals to the State government and M.P.s from Tamil Nadu to effectively utilise their political clout and exert pressure on the Central Government to introduce Interest free Islamic Banking in India.

Stop this obscenity!

The Zonal Conference of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Tamil Nadu & Puducherry condemns the rampant obscenity prevailing in both the print and electronic media. .

Belief in oneness of God and belief in the finality of Prophethood are the foundations of Islam. Naturally those who refuse to believe them could not be considered as Muslims.
